Nathan Signs Four Elite Ultrarunners to Roster of Athletes
Zach Miller, Sage Canaday, Camille Herron and Jim Walmsley to join roster of elite endurance athletes
Fountain Valley, Calif. (July 29, 2016) – NATHAN, the Running Essentials™ leader, announced today the expansion of the brand’s athlete team with the addition of four star ultrarunners – Zach Miller, Sage Canaday, Camille Herron and Jim Walmsley. As part of the multi-year agreements, the new team members will utilize NATHAN gear during training and races and assist with global marketing efforts.

NATHAN’s newly signed pro ambassadors are exceptional athletes who have won numerous ultramarathon accolades in both trail and road races:
· Zach Miller – Miller’s three-year career already includes wins at the JFK 50 Miler in 2013, the Lake Sonoma 50 in 2014 and the North Face 50 Mile Championship in 2015. Miller is the first American male to win a race at the prestigious Ultra Trail du Mont Blanc alpine ultramarathon race series, winning the Courmayeur-Champex-Chamonix in 2015 and the Madeira Island Ultra Trail in 2016. He will attempt his first 100-miler at this year’s UTMB race in August, and his all-out racing style is sure to thrill fans at the preeminent ultra race in the world.
· Sage Canaday – A two-time U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials qualifier, Canaday’s impressive career highlights include multiple wins, including the Pikes Peak Ascent World Long Distance Challenge and the North Face 50-mile Championships. Canaday won the Black Canyon 100k in 2016, setting a new course record.
· Camille Herron – Highlights of Herron’s career include qualifying for the U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials three times and winning the IAU 50k World Championship and 100k World Championships in 2015. This season, Herron is making the transition to trail running, placing fourth at the Lake Sonoma 50 and learning much about the difference between road and trails in the process.
· Jim Walmsley – Walmsley’s young career includes winning five of the last six races he has competed in, with course records in three of those wins. This season, Walmsley won and set a new course record at the Lake Sonoma 50 and made a lasting impact at the Western States 100-Mile Endurance Run. He ran almost 30 minutes ahead of course record pace, through 93 miles, before missing a turn and going off course to foil his record-breaking attempt. Jim’s grace and good humor in his disappointment won him fans and accolades around the world and put his talent firmly on the endurance racing map.

Miller, Canaday, Herron, and Walmsley are joined on NATHAN’s 2016 pro ambassador roster by other elite endurance athletes, including ultrarunning stars Stephanie Howe, Rob Krar, Emily Harrison and Michael Wardian, along with Olympian and World Champion triathlete Andy Potts and newly-signed U.S. Olympic marathoner, Desiree Linden.
