McDavid and Shock Doctor extend partnership with Nikola Karabatic, French Handball All-Star

Three-Time IHF World Player of the Year to help promote on-court protection

Olen, Belgium (September 19, 2017) – Leading athletic protection brands McDavid and Shock Doctor have announced the partnership extension of French handball superstar Nikola Karabatic as global athlete ambassador. Karabatic, a two-time Olympic Champion and three-time International Handball Federation World Player of the Year, will continue to exclusively wear McDavid’s patented line of HEX® protective gear and Shock Doctor mouthguards on the court.

Karabatic, a long-time user of McDavid HEX®, will help build awareness and promote the usage of protective apparel in handball. Additionally, he will use a custom Shock Doctor mouthguard and become a leading voice in the brand’s global “Mouthful of Fearless” campaign.

In addition to Nikola, McDavid and Shock Doctor have extended their partnership with Luka Karabatic, Nikola’s brother and his teammate on the Paris Saint Germain Handball team.

Growing up in a handball family, Nikola Karabatic began his professional career at the top French club Montpellier HB. He has won two Olympic gold medals (2008 and 2012), four World Championship gold medals (2009, 2011, 2015 and 2017), and three gold medals in the European Championship (2006, 2010 and 2014). Nikola also won L'Équipe Champion of Champions in 2011. He is regarded as one of the greatest players in Handball history, winning the IHF World Player of the Year a record three times (2007, 2014 and 2016).
